Baseball analyst Elowen finally walks away from Dashiell, her cheating ex-boyfriend and pitcher who stole her work. She then unexpectedly falls in love with her mysterious partner Stran, only to discover he is the anonymous ace pitcher of the Vesper Club—the very team she has been researching and trying to defeat. Against the barriers of secrets from a non-disclosure agreement, the malicious scheming and drugging plot from the villainous Tamsin, and a public smear campaign orchestrated by her toxic ex, Elowen teams up with her best friend to gather ironclad evidence using her wits. At the final review hearing, Stran defies his agreement to publicly reveal his identity and fiercely defend the woman he loves. The pair ultimately use their evidence to bring both the scumbag ex and his scheming accomplice to justice, finally reuniting at the peak of their baseball careers where they share a candid, heartfelt kiss on the field.
